2012 Fantasy Football PPR Rankings: Tight Ends

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has a nose for the end zone.

The 2012 Fantasy Football season is right around the corner; so it’s time for serious fantasy football owners to start their draft preparation. So, today we continue our 2012 Fantasy Football PPR rankings by position by releasing our first post-draft rankings for the tight end position.

Over the past few years, the tight end positon has gone through a transformation when it comes to fantasy football and 2011 was a major step in the evolution. Players such as Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham are changing the way we value the position and for the first time, tight ends may be selected as high and the second or third rounds in some fantasy drafts.

After all, Graham exploded on the scene last season, catching 99 passes for 1310 yards and 11 touchdowns. Numbers that would be fantastic for any fantasy wide receiver.

Believe it or not, Gronkowski was even more productive, hauling 93 passes for 1,327 yards and an NFL-record (for tight ends) 17 receiving touchdowns in the Patriots revolutionary two tight end offense.

Tight ends used to be a bit of an after thought in fantasy football drafts, a position that was normally only addressed once owners filled up the sports for quarterbacks, running backs and receivers on their rosters, however fantasy football is changing and transformational players like Graham and Gronkowski are leading the way as they re-define the value of their position.

So without further ado here are the 2012 PPR Fantasy Football post-draft Tight End Rankings:
