Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley was arrested again last night for DUI and charges of eluding arrest according to the following post on twitter: Homer blogger criticized me for being harsh on Lions. Well, Fairley arrested AGAIN: http://t.co/p4CLO2hC — mike freeman (@realfreemancbs)
This is bad news for Fairley, who has been nothing but a disappointment since arriving in Detroit. Fairley missed the majority of his rookie season with an injury and now seems to be headed for a suspension at the hands of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
In his first NFL season with the Lions, Fairley played in just ten games after missing the first six games of the season due to a knee injury. The former first-round pick, who was selected by the Lions with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft registered 11 tackles and one sack in his rookie season.
It is still early but this is becoming a pattern with Fairley, who is on his way to being considered a bust after so far failing to live up to the high expectations that came with his arrival with team. So unless he gets his career turned around quickly, Fairley may be one draft choice that Lions general manager Martin Mayhew wishes he had back.
