New York Giants 53-man roster projection

Eli Manning is an elite QB. But can he lead the Giants to a Super Bowl Repeat?

The New York Giants put together an incredible run to the Super Bowl in 2011 that few fans will ever forget. Not only did the improbable run give the Giants their fourth Super Bowl title, it was the team’s second in five years, which gives the G-men an opportunity  to turn this run into a dynasty if the team can win its third Super Bowl in six years in 2012.

Talent wise, the Giants appear to be in a solid position to contend. Not only is Eli Manning returning after by far his best season. New York has many other stars in their prime or just about the enter it. Players such as Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Osi Umenyiora, Ahamad Bradshaw, Mathias Kiwanuka, Michael Boley, Antrell Rolle and Kenny Phillips all return.

In addition to the strong core of the team, the Giants also added a few key rookies, who will look to add competition to the roster in certain spots. The two rookies in the best position to play right away are first-rounder David Wilson, a running back from Virginia Tech and second-round wide receiver of LSU, Rueben Randle.

The Giants will also be getting last year’s first-round selection Prince Amukamara and former starting cornerback Terrell Thomas, who tore his ACL last season, back completely healthy.

Like any team in the NFL, the Giants are not without questions. There are definite concerns along the offensive line and at linebacker, even wide receiver with the injury to Nicks is a little concerning. Yet, no one team in today’s NFL is without weaknesses, it is simply a matter of being good enough in critical areas that those deficiencies are covered up.

With that said, here is the Giants 53-man roster projection:
