This is the 2nd of 10 Rookie Underdogs that I think will make an Impact for their teams some I think can make an Impact and others will take a few years to develop into good players.
My 2nd Underdog Rookie to watch is Receiver Chris Givens From Wake Forest University,Who was picked by the St Louis Rams in the 4th Round #96 Overall.
Chris Givens had A great Season in 2011 for the Demon Deacons Catching 83 passes for 1330 yards and 9 touchdowns. He is a very good pass catcher with great speed running a 4.35 40 at his Pro Day.Givens is a good route runner with good hands and is very good at catching passes along the sideline and keeping his feet inbounds.might struggle against faster DB’s and sometimes struggles to get separation.
Why he fell?
Chris Givens fell because of a few different reasons. He has some minor character concerns,He tore his ACL twice in High School which as lead to some durability concerns. This years Draft Class was loaded with plenty of talented Wide Outs ad Givens didn’t do a whole lot to distance himself from the others.
He adds some much needed depth to a Rams Receiving Corp that has been weak for the past few seasons and QB Sam Bradford has already be raving about him in OTA’s.The Rams aso took Brian Quick in the 2nd round but he will need some time to develop and I think Givens will be more productive this Season.
Overall Chris Givens is a very good looking Wide Receiver Prospect with the speed and physical tools to be a very productive NFL Player.
