Now that two preseason games have come and gone, it is a great time to re-examine the 53-man roster of the 2012 Green Bay Packers. Despite their sluggish start in the exhibition season, the Packers remain one of the handful of teams being mentioned as a Super Bowl favorite entering the 2012 NFL season.
It is safe to say that this year’s training camp has not gone as planned as the team has suffered numerous injuries causing constant adjustments and even some veteran reinforcements to be added. Normally, the Packers stay away from veteran free agents, yet in the last week alone the team has signed veteran offensive lineman Reggie Wells and running back Cedric Benson, in part due to injuries.
Regardless of the injury bug or the less than stellar start to the preseason, the Packers have seen some encouraging signs from a number of rookies and second-year players making the fight for spots on the 53-man roster as competitive as ever. So, with just two preseason games left on the schedule here is an updated prediction of the Packers 53-man roster as the end of training camp approaches.
