2013 Fantasy PPR Week 2 Wide Receiver Rankings: Top 40

Every time teams take the field in the National Football League, fantasy football owners can learn something and week 1 of the season was no different. One of the biggest takeaways from week one, in my humble opinion, at least where the wide receiver position is concerned, was Anquan Boldin.

Boldin, who at the start of the season was in my eyes no more than a solid WR3, was completely unstoppable last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers as he burned them to the tune of 13 catches for 208 yards and a touchdown. That equals a whopping 39 fantasy points in point-per-reception formats.

Boldin, who appears to be the new favorite target of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick could very well by the 2013 version of Reggie Wayne, a veteran receiver who has a transcendent fantasy season.

Last year, Wayne dominated in PPR leagues and finished the season in the top 10 among wide receiver in fantasy points scored. Boldin, who will be the no.1 target at least until Michael Crabtree returns, is set up for a big season and if he keeps getting fed targets the way he was Sunday, he has top-10 potential in PPR leagues.

Other takeaways from week 1 are that Dolphins wide out Brian Hartline still has fantasy relevance, even after the signing of high profile free agent Mike Wallace. Hartline, who had over 1,000 yards receiving in 2012, hauled in nine passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. He is a solid flex play going forward.

Julian Edelman of the Patriots also re-announced himself to the fantasy world Sunday with an impressive 7-catch, 79-yard performance that included two touchdowns. He quickly became a popular add this week and then became a must-start when it was announced that Danny Amendola was doubtful to start tonight against the New York Jets.

Well before I get too long winded, let’s find out where Edelman and the others rank in the Week 2 Fantasy PPR Wide Receiver Rankings:
